Every class will get time in the library each week, with the opportunity to discuss new literature, investigate authors and genres, explore the Dewey Decimal System, learn about information literacy and - of course - borrow great books! Our set library days are below, but students can also return and borrow before school or during second break.
It is really important that students bring library bags to protect our beautiful books when they take them home.
Please remember to bring a Library bag on your Library dayl
Thank you For your support

Our school library provides resources for information, research and leisure.
Our vision for the library:
Thirlmere Public School is striving for a comfortable library with respectful and happy users where we develop information literacy skills through engagement with great books, great activities and great technology.
The Library is also open at lunch and students are encouraged to visit to borrow materials, read or share in other activities. For more information about our Library and Library learning, please visit our Library Blog.
The premier's reading challenge
In 2007 the premier's reading challenge was introduced to the school with 88 students in Years 5 and 6 completing the challenge. In 2008 the premier's reading challenge was expanded within the school to include students from Year 3 to Year 6. In 2019, all our students will attempt the challenge.
- Kindergarten - Year 2 will experience 30 books from the PRC list. At Thirlmere PS we do this with our classes.
- Years 3 - 6 students will read 20 books. 15 from the PRC list and 5 of their own choice. These students are responsible for reading all books towards the challenge.
All challenges must be completed and uploaded to the PRC website by August 2019.
